Here are some questions that I get asked regularly:
How do we book you to photograph our wedding?
Once you have booked your date and the venue get in touch with me as soon as you can to check with me my availability. You can book me via email as an easier option, where you can tell me the date, venue and which package you are more interested in. This way we can have a discussion followed by me sending you an online booking form and contract. I am always happy to meet you for a cup of coffee and talk through all possible details of your special day. To secure your booking with me I require the signed contract along with non-refundable booking fee of £200 and the reminder of the payment is due one calendar month before your wedding day.
Are you insured?
Yes, I am fully insured with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
When do you start photographing and how long would you stay at the wedding?
I usually start 2-3 hours before the ceremony, which allows me to capture the bridal preparation, taking photos of pretty details like flowers, dresses, shoes etc. then capturing the wedding party getting ready in very natural and relaxed way. This is when I do some photos of the venue and wedding breakfast set up. If you have chosen a package with second photographer, this is when grooms preparation is being captured, usually 2nd photographer arrives 2hrs before the ceremony.
I stay until your first dance and then 30min afterwards to capture the fun and celebrations on the dance floor.
What are formal group photos and how many groups should we have?
I love natural and relaxed photos but I also know how important to you to have those classic family and friends’ portraits from the day. Formal images are the photographs of you and your relatives and close friends. I usually recommend limiting these groups to no more than 10, so it does not take too long and you don’t feel too tired before we even do your bride & groom photographs. I generally recommend: parents, grandparents, children if have any, immediate family, brides’ maids and groom, all bridal party and of course lots of informal photos during the day.
How many photos do we expect to receive and when?
I never limit myself on how many images I take on a day and I estimate provide a gallery with a minimum of 500 images and could be up to 800, which shows your wedding story in the best way.
Every wedding image will go through a very careful selection and post production, where I work on every individual image. Timing can be slightly different from wedding to wedding, it all depends on what time a year it is and how busy I am with other jobs, but generally it takes 4-8 weeks for the final gallery. Then I send you an online password protected gallery to view and share your images with your family and friends, where they also can purchase digital files, prints, wall art or USB’s directly from me.
If you have any products in your chosen package then it will be sent to you 1-2 weeks after you have received your online gallery. Any extra purchase via online gallery usually take similar time to be posted.
I keep online gallery open and available for at least 4 weeks, which gives you all plenty of time to download images or make any purchases.
Do you require a meal on a day?
The meal for photographer is not in my contract. And I would never say “you must feed me” , but of course I always appreciate nice fresh food after lots of hours of working, it does not have to be a 3 course meal, simple food from the bar is very appreciated to top up my energy levels, otherwise I would have to leave the venue for some fresh food hunting, what can be very difficult in some rural locations. Most of the venues do provide a cheaper meal option for suppliers, please check it with your venue first.
When should we book “Love Story” pre wedding session if we wish to have it?
Pre wedding session is amazing to have 3-4 month before the wedding or even earlier if you think you want to use those images for some displays at the wedding.
I love this session a lot and always recommend to my couples to have it done, it really makes such a difference to the day. It gives you a confidence in front of the camera, gives me a great idea on how is the best way to capture you. This also builds an amazing friendship between us, what is an amazing way to start your story and after all it will be so much fun. Lots of the couples have used these images for the table plans, slideshow during the first dance or dinner, table decorations etc.
